നിയോട്ടിയ (Neottia)
പോഷണത്തിനായി ഇവ പരാദങ്ങളായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു. മോണോട്രോപയുടെ പരാദനം ഒരു പ്രത്യേക തരത്തിലുള്ളതാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ ആതിഥേയ ജീവി ഒരു ഫംഗസ് (കുമിള്‍) ആണ്. ഈ ഫംഗസ് ഒരു വൃക്ഷവുമായി സഹജീവനം നടത്തുന്നതാണ്. വൃക്ഷം തയ്യാറാക്കുന്ന ആഹാരം ഫംഗസിനു ലഭിക്കുന്നു. ഫംഗസില്‍നിന്നുമാണ് മോണോട്രോപ ആഹാരം ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അതായത് ഫംഗസ് എന്ന ആതിഥേയ ജീവിയില്‍ക്കൂടി വൃക്ഷം തയ്യാറാക്കുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം തട്ടിയെടുക്കുന്നു. ഇത് Ghost plant, Indian pipe, Corpse plant എന്നീ പേരുകളില്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. നിയോട്ടിയയും ശവോപജീവിയല്ല. ഫംഗസിനെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്ത് പോഷണം നടത്തുന്ന ഒരു പരാദസസ്യമാണിത്. (ചിലയിനം നിയോട്ടിയ ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലാതെയുമുണ്ട്. അപ്പോഴും ഇത് ശവോപജീവിയല്ല). (Both these plants are parasites. They are not saprophytes. The nutrition in monotropa is a very special one. Its host is a fungus. This fungus lives in association with trees and gets its food prepared by these trees by photosynthesis. Monotropa takes food from this fungus, which in turn gets its food from the tree. Thus monotropa is a parasite. Monotropa is also known as ghost plant, Indian pipe, and Corpse plant. Neottia also is not a saprophyte. It is a parasite whose host is a fungus. [Some neottia species are not parasites, still they are not saprophytes.])

മോണോട്രോപ, നിയോട്ടിയ എന്നിവ സപുഷ്പികളായ സസ്യങ്ങളാണ്. ഇവയ്ക്ക് മിക്കതിനും ഹരിതകമില്ല. മോണോട്രോപയ്ക്ക് വെളുത്ത നിറമാണ്.(Monotropa and Neottia are flowering plants. Most of them have no chlorophyll. Monotropa is white in colour)
