▲ഒരുഗ്രാം കൊഴുപ്പില് നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കുന്നത് 9 k cal (കിലോ കലോറി) ഊര്ജമാണ്.
▲ആവശ്യത്തിലധികമായി ശരീരത്തിലെത്തുന്ന കൊഴുപ്പ് പ്രധാനമായും ത്വക്കിനടിയില് സംഭരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. കൊഴുപ്പ് ഒരു സംഭൃതാഹാരമാണ്.
▲കൊഴുപ്പിന്റെ ലഘുഘടകങ്ങള് ഫാറ്റി ആസിഡ്, ഗ്ലിസറോള് എന്നിവയാണ്.
▲കൊഴുപ്പിന്റെരൂപം തന്നെയാണ് കൊളസ്റ്ററോള്.
▲കൊളസ്റ്ററോളിന് രക്തത്തിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കാന് ലിപ്പോ പ്രോട്ടീനുകളുടെ സഹായം വേണം.
▲ലിപ്പോപ്രോട്ടീനുകള് LDL എന്നും HDL എന്നും രണ്ടുതരത്തിലുണ്ട്.
(LDL: Low density lipid; HDL: High density lipid)
▲ LDL ചീത്ത കൊളസ്റ്ററോള് എന്നും HDL നല്ല കൊളസ്റ്ററോള് എന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.
▲ LDL കൂടുതലായാല് അത് രക്തധമനികളുടെ ഉള്വശത്ത് തങ്ങി നിന്ന് ഹൃദയരോഗങ്ങള്ക്കും, മറ്റ് പല ആരോഗ്യപ്രശ്നങ്ങള്ക്കും കാരണമാകുന്നു.

▲The simpler components of fat are fatty acids and glycerol.
▲Cholesterol is a type of fat.
▲Cholesterol is of 2 kinds namely LDL and HDL. (LDL: low density lipid, HDL: high density lipid).
▲LDL is known as bad cholesterol and HDL is known as good cholesterol.
▲Excess LDL get deposited in the inner surface of arteries and block the flow of blood. It can cause heart diseases.
